The independent home seller (VDI) status, social contribution withholding, off-premises sales, personal data: direct selling in France follows rules that exist nowhere else in Europe.

Whether you are a French brand or an international brand entering the French market, SellingAtHome applies them for you, from recruiting a consultant to the DSN filing, including every order signed by your customers.

01

Regulations unique in Europe

The independent home seller status

The VDI status only exists in France: income, allowance, contribution brackets and withholding follow rules specific to direct selling.

Off-premises sales

An order taken at home is governed by the French Consumer Code: pre-contractual information, order form, written consent of the customer.

Personal data

Customers, hosts, consultants: every record must comply with the GDPR, from consent collection to the right to erasure.

02

Status and social contributions of your consultants

  • Every status in your network: VDI, micro-entrepreneur, sales agent, buyer-reseller with monthly margin reporting.
  • A checked consultant record: social security number verified, general or Alsace-Moselle scheme deduced from the address.
  • Contributions calculated every quarter: income, professional expenses allowance, contribution base, URSSAF bracket, consultant and company shares.
  • Withholding that suits your brand: at the end of the quarter or spread monthly, with adjustment to actual figures.
  • Documents ready to hand over: contribution statements, numbered commission statements and invoices, SEPA transfer file.
  • The DSN generated automatically from the calculated contributions: a file ready to be submitted, with no re-entry.

Frequently asked questions

Does SellingAtHome file contributions with URSSAF on behalf of the brand?

SellingAtHome calculates the contributions, issues the contribution statements and generates the DSN automatically. Submitting the DSN and paying the contributions remain the brand’s responsibility.

Which consultant statuses are supported?

Those of your network: VDI, micro-entrepreneur, sales agent, buyer-reseller, according to the list of legal statuses set by your brand. Contribution withholding applies to consultants with the VDI status; buyer-resellers can report their margins every month.

How does the customer sign her order?

After reading the pre-contractual information document and accepting the order form, she signs on screen, with a finger on mobile or tablet, or with a code received by text message depending on your brand’s settings. If she agrees, her documents are sent to her by e-mail.

What happens when a customer asks for her data to be erased?

Her record is irreversibly anonymised: her personal data is replaced with neutral values, her orders are kept. Anonymisation is possible after a period linked to her latest orders and home parties.
